About Me

Welcome to my blog, I’m Binh, currently working as a Systems / DevOps Engineer. Honestly, the title doesn’t matter much to me as I have been working in IT for 10 years so far, not too long, but not new anymore.
What I’ve observed over my career is that, regardless of the titles you hold, such as Systems Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Platform Engineer, or Site Reliability Engineer, I personally think they are just puzzle words that employers use to find a suitable person for a position.
So, whatever the title is, I think there is still domain knowledge and technologies that we use interchangeably between positions to achieve the goals we aim for. Also, learning about DevOps and IT-related topics is vast. However, I believe the best way to grasp this stuff is to start small, through hands-on experience and sharing. That’s why this blog was born, not only for me to document my work, but also to clarify the things I do by sharing with others.
A SUMMARY OF MY BACKGROUND
I started as a Linux Systems Administrator, and I have been working primarily with either Linux or Windows OS, with a specialisation in Linux OS, such as Ubuntu and CentOS. After 5 years of working in Vietnam, I felt like reaching a pivotal moment in my career where I felt it was essential to take a break, not only to recharge but to significantly improve my technical skills as well as my experiences in life. Thus, I went to New Zealand and then started my Master of Information Technology degree at Southern Institute of Technology. After finishing my master’s degree, I got a job as a Systems / DevOps Engineer at WorldFront Limited, and I have been working for my company since then. I have experience working with some AWS services, CI/CD, Monitoring, Programming, and other DevOps aspects. I have still been living in New Zealand as I love this country.
ABOUT MY BLOG
I’d like to share some tips and tricks I’ve picked up on my IT journey, as well as the lessons I’ve learned from adopting a DevOps mindset. I hope this can help others who encounter similar challenges find practical solutions. This blog isn’t just about IT, though – I also write about other topics I’m passionate about, like stories, and things I’ve dealt with while working in a DevOps role.
